When a person visits a web site and comes directly from a search engine, many things may take place. Often they will have had a cookie set on their hard drive with a time stamp from the search engine that records all sorts of information that assists the search index in deciding just how to catalogue the relevance of the search engine page results - (SERPS) for that site. TIP: Also beware of the "clever" culture that manages great SERP results by dubious means. Investing money with these people may represent a total loss if the search network gets an idea they are being spammed your web site will be banned and removed from the search engine network.
